ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers)
As the largest engineering student organization with over 800 members, I am grateful to be a part of a student organization that works to promote academic, professional, social, and technical resources to its members. Our events range from lunch and learns with companies and lab tours with professors to technical trainings and intramural sports teams. With a wide variety of events and opportunites for our members, I feel rewarded to be able to share a community within the mechanical engineering student body.

During my time at ASME, I started as an internal member during my freshman year. Through attending events and learning more about the organization, I grew to love the people and connections I made throughout the year.
Wanting to make more of an impact on the organization, I became the Sports Coordinator. Managing over ten sports teams throughout the year and hosting my own events, including a pickleball tournament and the introduction of a fantasy football league, I learned how to plan and execute events for members while maintaining a budget and adapting to last-minute changes. In addition to my officer-specific duties, I had the opportunity to serve as a family parent. As part of an initiative to promote closer connections within our large membership, members are grouped into families that compete against one another throughout the year. Through hosting hangouts and spending time together, I enjoyed strengthening the connections within our group.
As I enter my junior year, I am grateful to serve as the President of ASME. I hope to continue growing our membership while fostering close connections and providing a diverse range of opportunities for our members to develop both personally and professionally as engineers. I am excited for the upcoming year!
